.Mark Miner's story follows the lives and adventures of members of a primitive coven whose existence and way of life is threatened by outsiders called "the Others." With imaginative style, Mark weaves as tale that makes the reader wonder what's going to happen next. Characters interact in ways that show both quaintness and a unique sense of refinement. I found myself with new questions and with an eagerness to read the next chapter. The author's imagination yields details that really transported me to the council fire. I can't wait to read more.

Read your book while on flight and found it hard to put it down. Can't wait to see what happens next. Cool story, was a little slow at first, but the ending made up for all the confusion.

In The Spell of Deception, Mark Miner takes us into a hidden pocket of American history. He tells the story of an isolated village of witches living on the American frontier in the 1800s. Jumping straight into the world of the village, Miner conveys the mysteries of a life steeped in magic and the hard realities of frontier life. Soon the intrigue deepens
The old coven leader has been murdered leaving leadership of the village to her protégé, Manut. Manut reluctantly takes the leader role knowing that if Shanun, his mentor’s son, ever returns to the village his leadership could be in question.
Shanun had left the village for the outside world yet he still has supporters in the village. While Manut is facing the first test of his leadership Shanun returns with tales of the outside world complicating village life.

Willamette Werewolves
"In 'Willamette Werewolves,' Mark Miner masterfully weaves a tale of suspense, mystery and nostalgia interlaced with touches of grotesque macabre - elements that all combine to create a tense atmosphere worthy of the Masters of Horror. In the backwoods of Oregon, no one can hear you scream."
